Mechanical Engineer


Friedman Fisher Associates, P.C. offers complete engineering services for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems in all types of building construction. The wide variety of projects successfully completed by the firm provides a solid base of experience with all types of systems and illustrates the versatility and flexibility the firm is able to bring to a project. We provide engineering studies and engineering design services either directly to the client or as a consulting engineer working in conjunction with the client’s architect.

This position provides mechanical design of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, cooling, and refrigeration systems. Designs systems for multi-family residential, industrial, institutional, and commercial buildings, including schools, office buildings, and health care facilities. Including the development of construction drawings and specifications suitable for construction purposes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Familiarity of various building mechanical systems including HVAC and hydronic systems. Detailed knowledge of building, energy conservation and NFPA codes.

Coordinates the designs with architect, structural engineer and client to ensure systems conform to engineering design, code and client specifications.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from and accredited engineering program with, five to ten years Mechanical Design experience.

Professional Engineer (NYS) License is preferred.

Experience with multi-house units, government agencies, commercial and education facilities is a plus.

Ability to write detailed specifications.

Ability to design and detail using AutoCad

Recommended Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro or BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Revit, SpecLink, Trane Trace
