Gore Mountain Summit Lodge

Scope of Project:
The project included the complete renovation of the old unused summit gondola building into the Summit Lodge at the Gore Mountain Ski Resort located in North Creek, NY. The project renovated the complete building and all existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were removed and replaced with new MEP systems.

Summary:
Friedman Fisher Associates (FFA) designed the new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the renovated Summit Lodge. FFA design the heating and ventilation system for the building utilizing a new electrically heated, air handling unit. Due to its remote location, fuel deliveries were not an option for this building and that is why electric heat was used for the AHU. The AHU provided fresh air for the building and make-up air for the exhaust from the toilet rooms. Exhaust systems were design for the toilet rooms and for the composting toilets to prevent odors from entering the building.

FFA designed a new electrical service for the building. The building service was powered by the Gore site electrical distribution system. New power distribution was designed for the building and all it’s mechanical equipment. New LED lighting was designed for the interior of the building. A new fire alarm system was designed for the building.

FFA designed the sanitary plumbing system for the building’s new toilet rooms. Due to its remote location, the building was not equipped with a water supply or well. The sanitary design included the use of composting toilets.
